Saturday School Blog

Hello Kinder Families! Welcome to the Saturday School Blog. We are happy to inform you that we will be releasing a monthly blog at the end of each week. Please look at it together with your children and engage in discussions about it within your house.

Our theme for this month was all about Music and musical instruments. Starting now, we will be doing a monthly song and will sing one song for the entire month. For this month, we have chosen a timeless classic by The Beatles called "Here Comes the Sun". Through practice and exposure to music, we aim to help our students gain confidence in singing English songs. Singing is not only a fun activity but also a great way to improve language skills and boost self-expression.

Week 1, September 2nd

Continuing with our theme of toys and children's interests, we made our own toys using various materials such as egg cartons, pipe cleaners, yarn, and more. The possibilities were endless! Some children chose to create monsters and helicopters, while others opted for flowers and glasses.

Week 2, September 9th

This week was filled with music! We began our day by singing and playing instruments to kickstart our day with a bang.

We talked about different types of instruments, their sounds, and names in English. After, we enjoyed a game called "Guess the Musical Instrument." We practiced using the grammar: I hear (a trombone, a xylophone, etc). Towards the end of the lesson, we tapped into our creativity and made our own musical instruments with bells, plates and colored papers!

Week 3, September 16th

We continued our musical journey by using cups and marbles to experiment with different sounds. We compared two sounds side by side and identified which one was soft and which one was loud. To reinforce our understanding, we completed a worksheet where we sorted out pictures according to their sound level.

Week 4, September 30th

Today is Collaborative Day! To start off, we kicked things off with some energetic dancing and singing English songs. Afterwards, we did some collaborative games in the big room with our big friends. We had a blast doing hurdles and running through obstacles, balancing a ball on our heads, and playing the classic game of tag, where we chased each other around with laughter and excitement. To cool off and relax we watched a movie called "Crow." This movie tells the story of how the crow turned black. To wrap up our amazing day, we engaged in some friendly competition with card games. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to bond with our friends and teachers. What a fun way to end the month! Thank you friends for coming!
