Saturday School Blog

Junior & Graduate Class

Dear families,

Hello Families! Welcome to the Saturday School Blog. We are happy to inform you that we will be releasing a monthly blog at the end of each week. Please look at it together with your children and engage in discussions about it within your house.

Week 14, August 24th

Welcome back to Saturday school! We started our term 2 lessons from today and we were happy to meet our friends again. The theme of this month was environment. Therefore, we read and talked about the Earth itself today. We studied the relationship between land and water on Earth,  as well as the landforms. After that, we tried to make the 3D planets. We used different materials to decorate it.

Week 15, August 31st

This week, we continued on the theme of the environment. We talked about the city where we lived and the surrounding parks. Then, we read a book about pocket parks. Even though pocket parks are not as big as other parks, we can still decorate pocket parks with various ideas.  Besides the cities, we also learned about the concept of rainbows. We learned how to determine an author's purpose and to effectively ask and answer questions while reading the book together.

Highlighted books of the week:

"Rainbows" by Sean McCollum

"Land and Water" by Robert Charles

Thank you so much for your participation and see you all next month.
