🍂 Saturday School Blog 🍂

Dear Families,

Welcome to another post in our Saturday School Blog series.
Here you can read about the activities we had with our Juniors and Graduates in November.
This month, we focused on speaking and vocabulary.

Week 25-26, November 9th and 16th

We warmed up with various games that targeted different skillsets. Some students played a memory games where we had to match adjectives to their corresponding images. We used these adjectives then to answer questions about ourselves. Some students tried their best at unscrambling letters to create action verbs.

Our students especially enjoyed solving riddles in English whereby they also had to quickly memorize new vocabulary. Another popular game was about listening to descriptions of various items or places and writing down the answer to each.

Our craft activities focused on winter landscape-themed decoration, private spaceship and a 3D Earth model.

We also took the time to visit the International Space Station. We learned about what astronauts eat, how they exercise, where they sleep. We completed our knowledge with a quiz.

Our grammar activity focused on phrasal verbs and our reading was about Mars.

Week 28, November 30th

On the last Saturday school day of this month, we expanded our practice with adjectives. We used adjective pairs with opposite meanings to guess information about each other.

Our students were eager to do several rounds of quizzes where they had to pick their favored design for a house, its furniture pieces and its surroundings. They agreed that the designs were very unique and sometimes even a bit impractical!

We watched short animations to practice listening comprehension and grammar comprehension; the students had to tell whether the sentences about the little cartoon episodes were true or false.

We also enjoyed watching footage from a famous company Boston Dynamics in America where they make robots. We discussed what abilities each robot had. Then, we made a list about three robots of our own design and gave each tasks and tools.

Our craft activities focused on animal-design plates and a 3D robot model.

Our grammar activity focused on completing sentences with the correct verb form and our reading was about watching Earth from space.

We are looking forward to seeing you in December! Keep warm and enjoy the coming winter season!
